Shirley Bassey

MP3: Shirely Bassey - Goldfinger (1965)

Goldfinger would have his women painted head to toe in gold, so he could make love to gold. That's how much he loved gold. He also robbed the US Bullion Depository in Fort Knox, Kentucky. Goldfinger was played by Gert Fröbe who didn't speak very good English. When it was learned he was a member of the Nazi party during the war, the movie was banned in Israel. The ban was lifted when a Jewish family said that he protected them during WWII.

This song is pretty grand and I have a lot of ideas about what we could do with it. I can't let you know what they are because I don't want people stealing them.

MP3: Au Revoir Simone - A Violent Yet Flammable World (2007)

Moniker from the best film of all time ever. Heavenly harmonies/singing-in-the-round in the second half of the song.

Blonde Redhead

MP3: Blonde Redhead - Silently (2007)

This is the first thing I've been quite excited about in a good spell. Even fun haters will have a hard time not loving this track, which often takes unexpected and surprising turns. Rest of album (just released yesterday) is top notch.

The chilled out, relaxed, positive energy vibe of this song pleases me, as it will you.

MP3: Tones on Tail - Go! (1984)

FYI, Tones on Tail and Love & Rockets were both WAY better than Bauhaus. Really dancy here.
