Fifths of Seven - Echoes From a Wandered Path
Their debut album of pure beauty is centered around the unusual quality in tone of the instruments and the high development of simple melodies, which place Fifths of Seven somewhere between Erik Satie, folkloric Eastern European music and, of course, the Constellation "post-rock" galaxy.
Fifths of Seven is a trio comprised of cellist Beckie Foon (A Silver Mt. Zion and Set Fire to Flames), mandolin-player Rachel Levine and pianist Spencer Krug ( Wolf Parade and Sunset Rubdown).

we’re proud as hell to introduce the final addition to the Touch and Go 25th Anniversary Block Party: legendary D.C. punks The Monorchid. If you were lucky enough to catch them during their brief lifespan (1996-1998), you’re probably still reeling from the impact. If this is your first time, you might want to strap on a helmet. And maybe some shoulder pads.Posted by: monorchid at August 11, 2006 01:16 PM
