There are two things to this song. Only two. One is the phlegmatic talk-singing about the facelessness of post-WWII modernization. The other is how the bassline plays disco hopscotch in octaves as a counterpoint to the talk-singing.

Love it! You're right about the bass, but I think it's about that insinuating, 80s-style keyboard line too.
