Young and Sexy

Young and Sexy - Your Enemy's Asleep
This song is in contention for best song of February. It has some skips at the end, but the harmonies make up for it. Buy it if you must. Young and Sexy come from Vancouver, which is another reason to give Canada the gold medal.

Bishop Allen

You should download this song. Don't take my word for it. Take your own word for it. Apparently the piano in the picture was used in the making of this song. It's from their new EP January which you can order directly from them for $5.

Devics

There's a little cranberry in this song. I like the part where she manages to hit the note you're not expecting. And I also like the bit that reminds me of Stereolab. Or is it Blonde Redhead?
These are American expatriates living in Italy and this album comes out in one week from today.

Grant Lee Buffalo

Grant Lee Buffalo - The Whole Shebang
I'm re-excited about this track because of its epic grandeur and Grant Lee Phillips' piercing voice. From the Velvet Goldmine soundtrack.

Art Brut

Art Brut is so yesterday. It's like cocaine. It's good, but it's not good.

Thee More Shallows

This is one of those things I keep neglecting, shrugging aside, mostly because I don't like the name. It's 2 parts Sparklehorse, 1 part Yo La Tengo, 7 parts Thee More Shallows. Just got the album and I like.

The Pastels

The Pastels - One Wild Moment (Stereolab Remix)
Lately this has been my cup of coffee.
The Pastels are not an indie band.
