Slings

This one's good for naptime. I esp. like the bells. Breezy and relaxing. Slings are two blokes from Marion County, Florida who now live in Anaheim. I randomly stumbled across their myspace page and immediately liked. You can find more songs and info at that page.

Mi and L'au

Mi (the woman) is Finnish and L'au is French. They met in Paris, fell in love, and moved to the Finnish forest where they live in isolation and make music. More about it here. I'm usually not that into this no-pulse music but this is different. A bit haunting. It's like tasting a drink I can't make my mind up about and after every sip I'm like, "but what is it?" and have to have another sip. And I think after 20 sips, that means that I like.

NAHPI - Do They Know It's Halloween? (click link to watch video)
This is something to get excited about. Here is a page that tells you exactly who is singing what.
The girl that starts screaming around 1:50, she nails it.
You can order an MP3 at the Vice Records site or on iTunes or emusic.com or Amazon or Insound. All proceeds go to UNICEF.

Deerhoof

Deerhoof - O'Malley, Former Underdog
I was reading on another blog (I don't remember which) and the author was like, "I don't get it, could someone please explain Deerhoof to me?" And I kind of get where he's coming from. Because sometimes, seriously, WTC?
But then there's this song.

Broadcast

The first few bars of this sound like childhood. It's v. tender. The only other band I know of that can pull that off is Boards of Canada. So well done, Broadcast.

Amina

This music will relax those bones of yours. Amina is four women from Rejkjavik who play string instruments and tour with Sigur Rós. I would go to that show if they had seats. Thanks Kelly Taylor for the heads up.

Gogogo Airheart

Sometimes the thing that needs to happen is dancing.
Gogogo Airheart have a new record coming in out in a few. You should order it. They are touring with The Joggers next month and you should go to that show even though concerts are too much effort anymore.
