The 5th Dimension

The 5th Dimension - Aquarius, Let the Sunshine In
Apparently everybody except me has always known about this song. I learnt of it when I saw The 40 Year-Old Virgin. The reprise, which begins around 2:18, is fantastic.

Goldfrapp

Goldfrapp - All Night Operator (Part 1)
I heard Goldfrapp is suing Starbucks because of their new product, The Goldfrappé. I hope she wins because, listen to this new song. V. sexy.

The Kinks - This Is Where I Belong
This is part two of Frank Black Appreciation Week.
As a fan, I am v. appreciative.

The Beach Boys

The Beach Boys - Hang on to Your Ego
To kick off Frank Black Appreciation Week, I submit the original version of "Hang on to Your Ego" for you listening pleasure. It seems like folks with those classical fragile narcissist egos really are pretty defensive in the face of any kind of feedback.
Also, kitty purr.

Mark Robinson
Mark Robinson - Volunteers Conquering Fires
Thanks to Grace who sent this track about 4 months ago after an Air Miami post. I was kind of "eh" at first and then it was one of those things that snuck up on me while iTunes was playing on random.

Pulp

Oh no, no I might as well go & tell it to the trees.
I am pleased that Jarvis Cocker will be in the next Harry Potter movie as a Weird Sisters Band Member (along w/ Phil Selway and Jonny Greenwood). They better not damn edit that part out. I am displeased that Pulp has zero plans to make another album.
"The Trees" is one of my favorite Pulp songs because: strings, a steady pulse, magpie, and the smell of leaf mould.

The Move

The Move - Flowers in the Rain
Everybody knows that before they were ELO, they were The Move.

Her Space Holiday

Her Space Holiday - Let's Get Quiet
Nice orchestration, this one. It comes from an EP that came out a couple of months ago called Let's Get Quiet, Vol. 1. A new full-length album called The Past Presents the Future comes out next month and I think there will also be Let's Get Quiet, Vol. 2.
Her Space Holiday is pretty much one person.

The High Llamas

Take care to avoid the heavy stuff.
The High Llamas - Homespin Rerun
The bloke in the picture is Sean O'Hagan who fronts The High Llamas. "Homespin Rerun" is breezy, chimey, and easy. It's also the most frequently played track by The High Llamas on Audioscrobbler (a stalking website that allows you to see what loved ones are listening to).
