Klaus Nomi - Total Eclipse (MP3)

This is the music playing in the background of the trailer for The Nomi Song, a documentary about German expatriate NY underground artist-performer extraordinairre, Klaus Nomi. His falsetto soprano vocals will make your ears perk. If you're into Xanadu, Ed Wood, and/or Pee Wee Herman, you'll want to fax this thing right onto your computer. Klaus was one of the first well-known people to die of AIDS and may have achieved a higher degree of celebrity had his life not been truncated.

You can get this album over to Amazon. It includes a rendition of "Lightning Strikes," which you may recognize from Eugene Levy's audition in Waiting for Guffman. Yeah. The album also has an aria from Saint-Saens' Samson et Delilah that he ostensibly performed at every show.

I went to see "The Nomi Song" down in the village a week ago....FANTASTIC! It will be a while before it hits DVD shelves but it's worth seeking out.
