Beulah B-Side

Beulah - Weight of My Tears

Next to the Pixies, this was probably the most disappointing band break up. That they didn't achieve more recognition still baffles. If you can think of something that is so blatantly good and nobody else seems to get it, that's how I feel about Beulah. I wonder if people have a tough time taking brass seriosuly. Or maybe it's too cheerful and fun-haters don't respond to cheerful. I don't know. Beulah is also responsible for what is perhaps the most perfect song ever: "If We Can Land A Man On The Moon, Surely I Can Win Your Heart."

This song is a on a B-side from the Coast is Never Clear and is about the stupor of being in love. And the accompanying pressure/anxiety. I like the cascading percussion. You can still get shirts and CDs directly from Beulah at their website. I've made multiple orders and had zero problems.

cb, i don't know but it sounds like you're coming to your senses (at last). mindyb, the joy of discovering beulah should be cherished, as it only happens once. if you keep looking for another band like them, you will fail. spiro, i am pleased as punch to know that you are a fellow beulah brother.

I too discovered Beulah a little too late. It's better to have found them now, than to have never found them at all. Miles is still running the merchandise on the website and i've picked up lots of great stuff.
