The Halo Benders - Do That Thing

This was the original song for the movie That Thing You Do. When they changed the title, The Halo Benders refused to alter the lyric. There were legal battles, name calling, nasty emails, all that stuff. When the dust cleared, The Halo Benders retained ownership of the song and put it on their album on the condition that they didn't publicize the whole naming fiasco.

The Halo Benders includes Doug Martsch from Built to Spill and a guy from Beat Happening which, who is that? The raspy deepness of his voice is as ubiquitous as Stephen Merritt's voice (of the Magnetic Fields). Which I'm okay with. But if this song annoys you, I can understand that.

Doug Martch's voice is the higher one that makes this track rather catchy. It's pretty amazing that people can come up with such.

Also, that's not true about about this song being originally written forThat Thing You Do. It was just me making a joke.
